About the Program

The philosophy of the Dave Bucciero Camp is to have fun learning! Camp objectives are to learn the technical and tactical aspects of goalkeeping, and to have instruction and repetition in the training environment. The Dave Bucciero Goalkeeper Camps are designed for boys and girls ages 10-17. The camp will be coached by experienced goalkeeper coaches and collegiate goalkeepers. Our goal is to inspire achievement by creating a challenging and fun learning environment.

Coach Bucciero and his staff will conduct four days of goalkeeper training on Nickerson Field, home of the Boston University Women’s and Men’s teams. Lunch will take place inside the Case Center, where the camp and staff will eat together. In case of inclement weather, the camp will be conducted at an indoor gym facility on campus.

The Dave Bucciero Advanced Camp will take place July 30-August 2. This camp is for boys and girls ages 14-18, with an emphasis on technical and tactical sessions that include: boxing and catching crosses, dealing with back passes and correct decisions, communication and instructions to the defense and team, strategy in dealing with penalty kicks and free kicks, and much more! Each morning will focus on the technical aspects of goalkeeping, while the afternoons focus on the tactical elements of goalkeeping. There will be goalkeeper games each day and analysis of goalkeeper videos as well. This is a great way for high school goalkeepers to prepare for the upcoming season. The Advanced Camp is a challenging but fun camp with great goalkeeper coaches!

*This camp must comply with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and be licensed by the local board of health.

What to Bring

Campers should bring the necessary practice gear, including proper footwear, goalkeeper padded shirts, goalkeeper gloves, and shin guards, to camp each day.  Nickerson Field is composed of Field Turf and cleats or turf shoes must be worn. Each camper should bring a pair of sneakers and/or indoor shoes.  If bad weather occurs, we will be playing inside. In addition, campers are responsible for providing and keeping track of their own soccer ball.  It is imperative that each camper remembers his/her ball each day.

Lunch/Water Bottles

Lunch will take place between 11:30-1:00 PM; each camper is responsible for his/her bag lunch every day. There will be water coolers available at camp; however, it is recommended that each camper bring a water bottle to camp every day.

Medical Insurance

The Dave Bucciero Goalkeeper Camp does not provide medical insurance for campers. In the event of illness or injury requiring treatment, hospitalization, or surgery, family medical insurance must be used. Routine health care will be provided by our camp athletic trainer; however, staff will not dispense aspirin or other medications, unless instructed to do so. Although every attempt will be made to contact a parent or guardian in case of emergency, the medical treatment authorization/release portion of the registration form must be signed to grant permission for any medical attention needed to be authorized by the camp director or athletic trainer.

In addition, each camper must complete all required forms with authorization from parents and physicians including; Health Information, Emergency Information, a completed physical within the past year, and a Certificate of Immunization. These forms are required by the Department of Health and must be completed by the first day of camp. I cannot allow your child to participate in camp without them. If you have questions regarding this, please contact David Bucciero.
